A healing sanctuary area
with Hakusan Faith

Shirotori area is surrounded by deep nature and has been an area where the Hakusan worship has been started since ancient times. Mt Hakusan was opened by Monk Taicho in the 8th century. Nagataki Hakusan-jinja Shrine is the entrance to Mino Zenjodo, a worship route from Mino to Hakusan. It was crowded with many worshipers. There are many sightseeing spots nearby, such as Amidagataki Waterfall, Hakusan Chukyo Shrine, and Itoshiro Huge Cedar. Having a walk and seeing the beautiful nature with clear water and air will heal your mind and body. Shirotori Odori Dance in summer is very popular among young people. In winter it is crowded with people coming for winter sports. Haiden Odori Dance, which dances under the light of lanterns hung from the worship hall of a shrine, is a local tradition that gives you a sense of ancient history.
