Enku was born in Minami-cho, Gujo-shi in 1632. He traveled all over the country. While practicing rigorously as a training monk, he created numerous statues of gods and Buddha called Enku Buddha. In the hometown of Enku and Minami area of Gujo-shi, there are many precious Enku Buddha statues left, and you can also visit places related to them.
