During the separation of Shintoism and Buddhism in Meiji era, Buddhist statues in Hakusan Chukyo-jinja Shrine were moved. The sitting statue of Ākāśagarbha, which is said to have been donated by Fujiwara Hidehira of Oshu, is said to be the best work in the prefecture and is designated as an important cultural property of the country. Many Buddhist items such as Waniguchi donated by Oda Nobunaga are also designated as Important Cultural Properties.
