郡上おどり発祥の碑
A stone monument erected in front of Gujo Odori Preservation Society at that time (currently Former Hachiman Government Building Memorial Hall) in 1953 to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the establishment of Gujo Odori Preservation Society. The stone monument is engraved with the handwritting of the local painter Mr Ryujin Mizuno, "The birthplace of Gujo Odori" and the typical lyrics “When you leave Gujo Hachiman, you can squeeze your sleeves even there is no rain.” The unveiling ceremony was held on 15th of July, 1958, the beginning of Gujo Odori Dance Festival of that year.
