Water tank

A system of water use peculiar to Gujo Hachiman. Of the two or three water tanks drawing in spring water and mountain water, the first tank is used for drinking and washing food, and the second one is for washing dirty dishes. Remains of food flows directly into the pond below to feed the carp and fish and the water is naturally purified and flows back the river. Most of them are located on the premises of private houses, so it's hard to see them, but there are many tanks for tourists all over the town, which tourists can taste while walking around the town.
