A spring water became famous because it was selected as the first of the 100 Famous Waters by Ministry of the Environment. It is a venerable spring water that came to be called "Sogisui" because Iio Sogi, a master of Renga during Muromachi era, used it habitually. A unique water tank called Mizubune (Water boat) was used for a long time. It still exists nowadays, and residents organize and conserve them as a union.
