We arrive at the deepest part of Itoshiro and see this Itoshiro Ohsugi. Walking 6km along the forest road from the shrine, we arrive at the parking area at around 14:30.

A sign “Hakusan Mountain Trail” tells us we are going to head for the peak. It is so different from the way to Amidagataki that it is an abrupt slope for around 15minutes walk.

While we are hearing the beautiful music sung by the birds, we see the blue sky and our target, Itoshiro Ohsugi, in front of us!

As the tree age is around 1800 years, it is 500 years old when Mt Hakusan was discovered. It is the same tree that Taicho has seen. 1300 years’ time seems shorter than I thought. It is amazing!

We end our long but fruitful trip with a spring water refresher coming from a small path behind the tree.

It is only part of the Mino Zenjodo. We would appreciate if you read this article and feel the Hakusan-shinko. Other than visiting historic spots and cultural properties, participating festivals operated by other shrines can lead you to the spirit of Hankusan-shinko too.
