[Experience Journal] Meeting people, visiting nature, and feeling with your five senses
Enjoy outdoor activity surrounded by the nature in Gujo.
Play at the sanctuary place.
Experience nature with your body and soul at this deep but close place.
I am Shiori Matsuno.
I moved to Gujo Hachiman from Tokyo last year. I am 24 years old and working as a writer.
This time, I am writing about my outdoor experience as a writer and a model.
I am going to write about what I tried here as a newcomer!
Gujo is a place with all kinds of outdoor activities.
After visiting so many places, I met “People”, “Nature” and “Five senses” which I have never seen.
“People”
Every tour guide I met in Gujo, of them is so kind that you want to see them again.
The shower climbing tour guide, Mr Wada, supported me a lot like a friend I had met for a long time.
Mr Harada, who fell in love with rafting and moved to Gujo, also expressed his love for his current job and the community.
Everyone loves the nature and people of Gujo and wants to convey its attractiveness to other people! They entertained all participants with their skills.
I met people who wanted to repeat joining the activities many times because they want to meet their instructor again!”
“Nature”
The nature I met is under full protection without being touched by humans.
Abundant clear water, mountain view, and the breeze blowing through make me feel very comfortable.
The origin is “respect for nature” by people involved in outdoor activities.
In Gujo, overlooking Mt Hakusan, one of the Three Holy Mountains of Japan, Mt Hakusan is the god of the blessings of water, and water has been worshiped as a holy treasure.
Those working on outdoor activities are grateful for the irreplaceable nature and have been working so hard to pass it on to the next generation.
We enjoy outdoor activities in the holy place under the protection of God.
As we can feel with our sensibilities, we are so grateful for the great power when we are playing in nature.
“Five senses”
We are spending our time in a busy daily life without noticing the smell, color, sound, and touch surrounding us.
I noticed all of them by immersing myself in the outdoor field in Gujo.
Cool flowing water, comfortable tiredness and a sense of accomplishment when riding a bicycle, refreshing breeze when sliding down the zipline, and the warmth of a bonfire surrounded by you and your friends.
When I recall the fun time I spent with my five senses sharpened, even in my daily life here, I feel like trying to live a little more sincerely.
Not just an experience of playing outside, but also an outdoor field where you can see the people, nature, and the five senses that can only be found here in Gujo.
I had the experience of seeing Gujo more clearly than before when I started living here.
You can find a new world that is just around an hour’s drive from Nagoya.
I am so addicted to Outdoor Field Gujo.
