What is Nagaragawa rafting?

This is the middle reach of Nagaragawa River.
You can enjoy rafting going down the emerald green river where Gujo Ayu, which has the best taste in Japan, is swimming around. You can feel your mind and body fully filled with so much fun!

○Consideration for safety under RAJ regulations

DEKKYS is a member of “RAJ (Rafting Association of Japan)”.

RAJ is the only rafting association in Japan issuing safety standards, operating regulations, and issuing tour guide licenses. At DEKKYS, you can participate in all tours without any worries as they are under supervision and safety standards.

Also, measures against heatstroke are one of the important safety managements in summer.

Before starting rafting, we enter the river and check if we can float with a life jacket.

DEKKYS care so much about cleanliness. They clean and disinfect the whole facility and all equipment very carefully.

Rental items, in particular, helmets, wet suits, life jackets, etc. used during tours are managed to be kept clean with no odor and dirt by 6 cleaning processes.
It is very nice to keep all rental items clean because you actually wear those items.

Mr Hideki Yagi (Nickname : Taisho)
Representative director of DEKKYS

Born in Hachiman-cho of Gujo. A genuine rafting guide who plays in nature and the castle town of Gujo Hachiman since his early age. The reason why he started to be an outdoor activity tour guide is "Snowboarding". After working as a snowboard instructor and security guard, he begins to work as a river activity tour guide.
The attraction point of rafting is "creating a sense of unity because you cannot go down the river alone."
Challenging the big waves with his customer and enjoying the wilderness with a boat are the two most attractive points as a rafting guide.

The most important thing in rafting is creating a sense of unity with our customers. The size and flow of waves in the river change every day, we, tour guides shouting loud and laughing together with our customers who just met on that day. Enjoying every moment is our motivation.

Q2：What are the most important points in DEKKYS?

Our view of the world and cleanliness.

DEKKYS is located at the entrance of Gujo.

This facility was originally a café and was a symbol of the entrance of Gujo, filled with the owner’s view of the world. Taking over his feelings, we are refining his view of the world so that DEKKYS can continue making you feel like entering Gujo.

Feel the river by rafting at DEKKYS, the entrance of Gujo, enjoy other outdoor activities and sightseeing in this water town Gujo, with your whole body.

In order to provide a happy and comfortable rafting tour, our biggest care is cleanliness.

For your safety in rafting, it is necessary to wear various equipment. If the equipment is not clean, you cannot enjoy rafting fully with your heart.
Especially we focus on removing all smell and dirt.

Actually, I am more fastidious than I look.

After a tour, all rental equipment is washed by a 6-layer basket. We keep washing and rinsing repeatedly. Rental equipment is mostly brand new, so you can enjoy our outdoor activities more comfortably.

Q3：Please tell us about how to enjoy nature in Gujo as a local person.

As Gujo is large, I think it is good for everyone to enjoy nature in their own way.
Rafting, skiing, snowboarding, buggies, E-Bike, there are so many outdoor activities in Gujo, and also many other ways to enjoy nature.
Driving, touring, and enjoying coffee while looking at the river are wonderful ways to enjoy nature.

You may meet someone who shows you his favorite place and teach you how to enjoy it.

Q4：Why there are so many repeaters coming again and again?

Gujo is famous for rafting in the midstream of Nagaragawa River. Many visitors come to Gujo every year. Many people come to Gujo in summer because it is fun and the river is beautiful.

Nagaragawa River is flowing besides DEKKYS.
When we moved our base in 2020, I thought of constructing one more floor for living. Nagaragawa River is really making me feel good.

DEKKYS is providing tours from [Level 1 to Level 5] so that you can enjoy it as many times as you like.
There are leisure tours for small children and more active tours for regular customers seeking excitement.

I think that there are many repeaters because I prepared different kinds of river activities to satisfy everyone no matter how many times they come.
